What makes this property unique

The quality and detail.  Baccarat Hotel has 112 room, each with custom-made Mascioni jacquard bedding.  Over 15,000 iridescent crystal pieces can be found throughout the 50 storey property including 2,000 Harcourt glasses affixed to LED lights, built in to the foyer wall producing a light show that sits within the realm of magic.   There are also 17 custom chandeliers commission from the Baccarat factory, as well as curated pieces from the brands archives.

Our own experience

If you didn’t know this was a hotel, you could easily walk/drive past it, as its entrance is dark and discreet.  However one step inside and there is no mistaking where you are.  We were bowled over by the entrance alone, which takes you up to the reception area a few levels up, as we were engulfed by lights and their reflection off crystals.  In a dark and mysterious way, you automatically knew you were entering somewhere exceptionally special.

Whist the rooms are sumptuous, our favourite areas were the Grand Salon, with its high backed banquette seating and 64 arm chandelier and The Bar, which is reminiscent of American long bars from decades past.

New York is such a fantastic city and staying at Baccarat really is the icing on the cake.
