The Northern Lights (or Aurora Borealis) is a spectacular natural phenomena which occurs in the northern hemisphere. Caused as a result of solar particles reacting with the upper atmosphere, they are vivid lights aroung the pole and a must-see for those with a spirit of adventure.
Winter in Scandinavia is ideal for seeing the Northern Lights and although it is always a matter of luck whether they appear or not, there is always crisp, fresh air, pine forests and deep powdery snow to enjoy.
