Di
Di was brought up in the Colonies & worked for the Foreign Office in London, Paris and Senegal. She married Andrew in 1979 and two beautiful daughters, Amy & Lucy shortly followed. They moved out of London to Haslemere in 1989 when the girls were aged six and three respectively.
Di's favourite part of travelling is the anticipation of arriving at an airport, knowing she is about to embark on a new and exciting destination.
Di's WOW travel experience was landing at the airstrip for Lamu Island, where the luggage was taken by cart down to the water before a 30-minute boat ride to Kipungani. The rooms at Kipungani are made of grass, with no glass windows or wooden doors. The generator is turned off when the last guest retires to bed. No radio and no TV, just endless peace and quiet.
When Di is not travelling, she enjoys bridge, tennis, cooking for friends and family and learning to play golf with Andrew.
