Rick Stein in Italy

The Cornish chef Rick Stein headed to Italy last week to examine the creative link between food and opera in a programme aired on BBC Four.

He noted that Puccini, Rossini and Verdi were all passionate foodies and Stein believes that there is a connection between what they ate and what they composed.

He found many chefs in Italy in agreement and also discovered plenty of opportunities to enjoy the culinary and operatic delights of this romantic, theatrical country.
