Customer Service Award 2010

At Haslemere Travel we know that we always go that extra step to ensure our clients are looked after in the best possible manner and that we give them the best possible service at every opportunity. It was therefore such an honour to be presented with the Customer Service Award 2010 at this year's Haslemere & District Chamber of Commerce annual dinner on Friday 16th April

Managing Director, Gemma Antrobus was presented the award by Chamber President Melissa King and award sponsor Keith Clayton from Claytons Fine Jewellery. Gemma was quick to praise the dedication and hard work of all the sales and administrative staff at Haslemere Travel which makes this award so well deserved.

In the midst of the travel turmoil that has engulfed the UK and most of Europe, following the eruption of the volcano in Iceland last week, this award has helped to justify the standards that small independent companies need to achieve and that sets them apart from their competitors.

Haslemere Travel operates a 24 hour travel service that seeks to be on call to assist their clients at all times, wherever they may be around the world. In the present circumstances it was of the utmost importance that all clients who were already overseas were contacted, in order to help them with their return travel arrangements and those that were due to travel soon were kept up to date with the latest travel options.

It has become common practice at Haslemere Travel to obtain mobile contact details of all passengers travelling abroad, and also an emergency contact number in the UK, in order that assistance can be given when necessary, and in this instance all Haslemere Travel clients were contacted as soon as the extreme circumstances had become known. We were also in contact with the families of those stranded to keep their minds at rest that their relatives were safe and looked after.

Haslemere Travel not only looks after clients in times of trouble, but also holds an event every month for those who love travelling, to share their experiences, broaden their horizons and learn something new. The ever popular 1221 luncheon club grows in size every month and has now hosted guests for over 18 months.
