15 Day Tour of Laos & Angkor - From £2,795pp

Combine the tranquil landscapes, colonial heritage, delightful cuisine and friendly faces of Laos with the majestic temples of Angkor on this luxurious journey following the Mekong to Siem Reap.

Day 1
London to Bangkok.

Day 2
Bangkok to Luang Prabang.
On arrival in Luang Prabang you will be met by a private car and taken to your boutique hotel 'Villa Maydou' where you will spend 2 nights. The hotel is set in tropical gardens beside a small temple, within walking distance of the attractions and old town.

Day3
Morning walking tour to the serene Buddhist temples of Wat May, Wat Visoun, Wat Xieng Tong and Wat Phousy.

Evening Baci Ceremony & Dinner. You will be taken to a local village for the traditional 'well-being' ceremony. The ceremony is thought to be particularly important before staring a long journey. You will then be taken to the acclaimed L'Elephant restaurant for dinner.

Day 4
Road transfer to Muang La - approximately 5 hours.

Once you arrive at the Muang La Resort you will have the afternoon at leisure to stroll around the village or enjoy bathing in the hot springs.

Day 5
In the morning you will be met by a guide who will escort you in a 4x4 vehicle to a remote Ikho hill tribe village near to Muang La, where you can see locals going about their daily lives.

Day 6
After breakfast you will be driven to Muang Khua, stopping en route at Xin Sai market. At Muang Khua you will board a private boat for a spectacular journey downstream to Nong Khiaw.

You will spend the night in the Nong Khiaw Riverside resort where you will have the afternoon at leisure.

Day 7
In the morning you will journey back to Luang Prabang by boat, stopping at the Pak Ou Caves which are filled with thousands of Buddhist statues, said to be offerings from worshippers who believe the caves represent the womb of the Earth.

You will spend the night at the Villa Maydou.

Day 8
Fly from Luang Prabang to Vientiane, the smallest capital in Southeast Asia.

You will stay 1 night at the Beau Rivage and take a half day tour of Vientiane in the afternoon where you will visit Haw Phra Kaew. Other sites to explore in the afternoon include Wat Si Saket, That Luang Stupa and Patuxay Monument.

Day 9
In the early morning you will fly from Vientiane to Pakse in Southern Laos. You will be met and driven to Champassak to visit the fascinating pre-Angkorian ruins of Wat Phou. You journey will then continue to the Kingfisher Eco Lodge where you will stay for 2 nights. You can relax in the afternoon or enjoy an elephant safari.

Day 10
Spend the day exploring Khone and 4000 other islands by boat, visiting the Liphi waterfall which forms the border between Laos and Cambodia.

Following this tour you will return to Ban Nakassang and drive to the famous waterfall of Khone Phapeng 'Niagara of the East'.

Day 11After an early breakfast you will fly from Pakse to Siem Reap where you will be taken to the Shinta Mani hotel, your home for 3 nights.

Spend the afternoon exploring the temple of Ta Prohm.

Day 12
Today you will embark on a full day's cycling tour of Angkor. A monk, who resides at a local temple, will accompany your tour of Angkor Wat. A picnic breakfast is enjoyed at the temple and the opportunity to experience the peace and quit long after all the other tourists have returned to their hotels.

Having explored Angkor Wat the cycling continues to the 'Indiana Jones' temple of Ta Prohm. The final stop is the immense walled city of Angkor Thom.

day 13
Spend the morning on a walking tour of the Roluos Temples, a great way to experience rural life.

Spend your afternoon at leisure.

Day 14
Following a morning at leisure and a chance for some last minute shopping, you will be transferred to Siem Reap airport where you will begin the first leg of your journey home - to Bangkok.

Day 15
Bangkok to London.

The price includes: International flights, accommodation in a shared double or twin room throughout, some meals, private transfers and English speaking guides, entrance fees for the sightseeing detailed, regional flights in Laos & Cambodia with taxes and service charges, room taxes and handling fees.
