Trevor McDonald travels the 2000 miles across the Caribbean experiencing the incredible extremes that make this region so unique. His first port of call was to Richard Bransons 74 acre exclusive island retreat, Necker.
Necker Island is a small island in the British Virgin Islands, just north of Virgin Gorda. Richard Branson purchased the island in 1979 and spent over $10 million building a 10 bedroomed Balinese-style villa, using local sand stone, brazilian hardwoods, antiques, art pieces and fabrics from the Far East. Each of the 10 bedrooms has open walls giving a 360-degree view and cooling winds from any direction in the house.
Necker is known to only be available for hire as an entire island, at a cost starting from $36,000 per night based on a minimum of 16 guests, however Haslemere Travel has gained access to some EXCLUSIVE availability for singles, couples or families to share the island with others.
