Days 10 - 12 Enjoy this amazing wilderness location in the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest. In the summer months there is so much wildlife to see. Spend half or full days excursions watching whale, orcas, porpoise, white sided dolphin. In September the salmon begin to run by their thousands up the rivers and streams and this is where you will find the Kermode or Spirit Bear. These all white bears (which owe their unusual colouring to a double recessive gene) are elusive and the optimum sighting of them from various platforms is from the end of August to early October. Other activities include fly fishing and heli fishing up in the mountain lakes, salt water fishing, hiking, kayaking, wolf tracking, sightings of brown bear and sightseeing excursions. Day 13 Back to Vancouver for another night to enjoy the bars and restaurants. Day 14 Your flight back home. |
Optional Extension: If you still have energy left why not add a six
day white knuckle river rafting trip from Chiko Lake down to the coast. Best time to travel: May - September |
